Akbuk is a very new township it was developed in 1991. This quaint town used to be known as just a small fishing port, where the fishermen would go to catch delicious Sea bass. Although Akbuk is rapidly growing, much of this area is a preserved green belt area and there are building restrictions in force to preserve its beauty.

Akbuk has a good range of shops and markets selling food, produce, tools and hardware. There is also a habour, doctors, dentists, schools and a bus station with regular services going to all of the neighboring towns including Altinkum, Soke, Kusadasi and Bodrum. The local market on a Friday is a magnet for locals and tourists alike. There are also plans to eventually build 2 golf courses around Akbuk.

Akbuk is not yet as well known as resorts such as Kusadasi or Bodrum, but has all the potential to become a luxury resort. It still maintains its definite Turkish feel, whilst being welcoming to the new British residents. The tranquil and countless beaches, with charismatic bars and bistros along the quaint harbour will make you enjoy exquisite Turkey. As this town is rapidly developing, property prices are fairly low and would be considered a good investment. Now its potential has been spotted, this resort will grow in stature and value.
